The legend of how Indian Rocks Beach got its name was that a Chief was healed by a native man with the natural sulfur waters that were from Kolb Park which is located on the island. The early settlers used to watch the Indians go to the park where the spring was encircled by rocks. They would say “The Indians are on the way to the Rocks.” Kolb Park is one of 7 parks located in Indian Rocks Beach featuring watercraft access in two locations and a dog park.
