History of Honeymoon Island

It was purchased by a businessman named Cliff Washburn in the 1930s. While he and his friend, the editor of Life magazine were picnicking there, he mentioned to Cliff it would be a great secluded place for Honeymooners to enjoy. Soon thereafter, the editor of Life magazine ran the story about the newly acquired Honeymoon Island and it gained popularity quickly and 50 honeymoon cottages were built. These cottages no longer exist today.
